Health authorities of the Americas will debate a regional plan of action for the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases, which affect three out of every four people in the Americas.
Also on the agenda of the 52nd Directing Council, which continues through Friday, are a Panel Discussion on Health in the post-2015 Development Agenda and a side event on universal health coverage at lunchtime.
Three Member States will be elected to PAHO’s Executive Committee upon the expiration of the periods of office of Grenada, Peru, and the United States. The Committee on Credentials will issue its third report. Resolutions still waiting to be adopted will also be considered.
