Delegates debate ways to overcome shortages of trained health personnel in the Americas to ensure health care access

Top-level health authorities of the Americas discussed a proposed resolution that calls for increasing the number of trained health personnel to ensure that primary health care services are available and accessible, particularly in remote and rural areas. 

Representatives from health ministries of the Region recognized the shortage of needed human resources to guarantee that all people have access to quality health services.
