Attracting primary health care professionals is a region-wide challenge

During consideration of a draft resolution calling for an increase in human resources for health, Hilda Dávila Chávez, Director-General of International Affairs of Mexico’s Secretariat of Health, recognized that attracting health professionals to primary care services is a region-wide challenge. 
Dávila Chávez also praised efforts already under way in the Americas to strengthen human resources planning and achieve universal health care coverage.

Her remarks were made during the 52nd Directing Council of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).
