Uruguay: Tobacco industry battles are assaults against the world’s health

The delegate of Uruguay, Andrés Coitiño, said today that the actions of the tobacco industry to curb tobacco control measures taken by countries like Australia and Uruguay are assaults against the health of the world.

Our main concern is the industry’s interference, he said, and stressed the country’s commitment to the right to health of its population. In that vein, Coitiño issues a call to the representatives of the countries of the Americas to protect the rights to health and life.
