The International Alliance of Patients’ Organizations (IAPO), which represents 65 million patients around the world, today encouraged the Pan American Health Organization PAHO) and the countries of the Americas to implement strategies that facilitate achievement of universal health coverage.
Participants in a special side event to the 52nd Directing Council described successful efforts to address the social determinants of health in countries of the Americas as well as in other regions.
The delegate of Barbados congratulated the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) for the design of its new Strategic Plan and for the alignment achieved between regional and global priorities.
Chile: The health sector needs to get out of the doctor’s office and go to schools and the workplace to address populational aging
The delegate of Chile told participants at PAHO’s 52nd Directing Council that the health sector needs to move beyond the doctor’s office and into schools and the workplace to raise awareness about populational aging in the Americas.
